NOTES AND UPDATES FROM BOB WHITE- REUNION ORGANIZER

We have added a presentation about the History, Myths and Legends of the Muskogee Creek Indians.    The speaker will be Dr. Peggy Venable, Director at Tama Creek Tribal Town, Whigham, GA.        I am e-mailing to all valid e-mails and using the US mail for the rest.
I have updated the mailing list from 2004 with assistance of website for Directory Assistance.      People do move around.
We are also trying to locate a copy of the old tin type picture of Elender Riley Ward dressed in full Indian regalia.   A number of us have seen a copy before.

Thanks for your help!

I had tried to secure the old Center Methodist Church, but after going through several members and committees, the Board of Trustees will NOT rent the Fellowship Hall to any non-member of the church.   No exceptions, I was told.

Therefore, we have secured the Echo United Methodist Church, Echo, AL, for the Ward - Riley Family Reunion for Sat., July 12th.    It will be from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. with lunch at 12 noon.   It will be a 'pot luck' meal as in the past.   It has been 2 years since we have had a reunion and I have heard from some new found relatives who want to attend and bring family members.
Hopefully, the final rough draft of the book will be ready, or close to ready.    I will get with Manonia about the book.    The Riley website needs the current update on this location, and I have e-mailed Pete Unger earlier this morning ( and he is getting this e-mail).
There are the new headstones at the old Center Church cemetery that I think everyone will want to see.    Perhaps, Jim Riley could secure pictures of each and have copies there at Echo for everyone to view.

I will work on an information flyer to get out to all of you and any other relatives and families that I have addresses.   I thought it would be good to go over updates of any sort and look at any pictures anyone has -- new and old.     Remember, there should be people at this reunion who have never been before and have expressed interest to attend by e-mail.
What suggestions does anyone have of anything else to do?      Two years ago, we had the Chattahoochee Bluegrass Band playing.     I think the 1 hour was perhaps a little too long, but the music was good.

Let me hear from you right away so I can include anything else in the one page flyer.
THANKS!!!
